Cranes - caring parents

ree

This year I had an opportunity to observe cranes in the period of rearing their young. A pair, after mating in March, usually starts breeding around the beginning of April. Depending on the location in the country, it may even take place a little earlier. There are usually two eggs that appear in the nest, which are incubated by both birds alternately. After about a month of incubation, chicks are born. A few days after hatching, the young begin to walk with their parents and are fed by them. They spend some time in hiding, vigilantly guarded by adult birds.
