Workshop # 14/26

Autumn Wolves

Wildlife Photo Workshop - 21-28 November 2026 - Bialowieza, Poland

fully booked

The Białowieza Forest is a large forest complex located in the far east of Poland, right next to the border with Belarus. Part of the forest is already beyond the country's border. On its territory, there is a 6,000-hectare Strict Reserve. This is the last fragment of the primaeval European forest that once covered most of the continent. It is a unique place in Europe. The uniqueness is even greater because bison, the largest European mammal, live here in the wild. In 1944, there were only 17 of them here, and they did not exist anywhere else in the world. Currently, there are about 750 individuals living freely in the Forest. In addition to bison, you can also meet rare large predators – wolves and lynxes. There are about 30 wolves divided into several packs.

The photo workshop is a unique opportunity to observe and photograph wolves in their natural environment without any form of animal bait. They behave freely, presenting a full range of mutual interactions. Depending on the situation, you can deal with single individuals or even a whole pack, sometimes even from a close distance of 25-30 meters.

Meeting and photographing wolves will be our main focus during the photo workshop.

You will learn interesting facts about the life of wolves and bison, and have the opportunity to photograph them in their natural habitat.

What participants say:

"The workshop was extremely well organized. Our guide was very adaptable to challenging circumstances. The forest was absolutely stunning, and we observed many species of animals.

The food is all local recipes and was the experience in itself.

This is definitely a trip I will do again."

Feargal, Ireland

"It was more than I expected.

The worshop was well organized. Accommodation and food were perfect.

The guide was very experienced with the great hospitality."

Steffen, Germany

"The workshop was wonderful, and the guide was excellent. We have seen a few single wolves and a whole group, deer, single bison and herds, and moose. The organization and food were very good, and there were very nice, clean rooms."

Jens, Germany

"First of all, Robert and Adam did their best, and that was a really good thing. Both let us take part of their knowledge. The rooms were in good condition, and breakfasts and diners were fine and hearty. I learned a lot about the behavior of wolves. After the first encounter with a wolf, I realized that such a meeting is difficult. I loved the last light session when we were waiting for the wolves, although they did not give us a chance to see them again.

Thanks for all."

Urlich, Germany

"We got to know Robert via FB, established contact and booked “Wolves in Winter” well in advance. Overall the organization proved to be perfect in all aspects with plenty of inputs / ready-to-answer questions of all sorts - so we came prepared. His partners on site were perfect hosts, the place was comfortable and roomy, food was excellent A group size of 2 (plus Robert and a local expert) for such shy animals is also very good. The workshop met our expectations, we saw plenty of bison in different settings and had a number of sightings of the wolves, too."

Anuradha & Stefan, Austria

"I felt very comfortable during the workshop. It was well organized - from the beginning to the very end. The communication with you on FB was perfect, very reactive. Accommodation - very clean and comfortable room. Every dinner was delicious and very different every day. Our guide was excellent. He has the patience and the persistence to find wolves but also other wildlife. I really recommend this workshop due to professionalism, respect for nature, and the climate of a small group."

Jonathan, France

"It was a very nice and amazing workshop. I feel not as a client but as a friend! Very good organization of an amazing week. Nice wildlife experience and some cool meetings even if the main target was playing with us. It was also a marvellous work of our guide. The accommodation was very good and the food delicious."

Marco, Germany

"It was a great experience for me. I felt very comfortable in the small group and gained a lot of impressions of the beautiful country and nice people. The organization was great! Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. It was a family, relaxed atmosphere and I felt very comfortable. You can notice that everyone involved has a love for animals and nature and doing everything to ensure that every participant can go back home with good feelings and great impressions. It is fascinating how Adam, our guide, has so much knowledge about the animals. He can read their tracks, and paths based on his own observations and field research. He knows all the areas in the forest like his own living room. I also learned a lot about the country and its people from Robert. You can clearly notice his connection to nature in everything he says and does. It was a feeling of “real” wildlife and I will definitely come back."

Nicole, Germany

"Everything was smooth and well-organized. Timing adjustments were made without fuss and generously when my flight was delayed by 7 hours! I especially appreciated all the sympathy and help I received when my flight luggage was delayed. I was able to participate without any interruption. The daily timetable was always clear and on time. It is difficult to guarantee a wildlife experience. Nature will not always cooperate. Adam and Robert made every effort to ensure that we encountered what we came to see – wolves. They did it without stress or frustration. Always positive, good-humored, and focused – also informative and generous. Our morning coffee moment became the fun kick-off for the day, and we all began our daily searches in a happy, friendly frame of mind. I will definitely return to Bialowieza for further adventures."

David, Ireland

"The workshop was amazing and we had a really good time. The Wildlife in Bialowieza is great and so the opportunities to photograph are higher than in Germany.

The workshop was very well organized by Robert and Adam. We always felt good and in safe hands. Adam really knows what he is doing – his knowledge about the deer, bison, and wolves is impressive.

For us, it was the first time we met wolves in nature, free and wild. The feeling when the wolf appeared at the end of the road was so breathtaking! And I guess to get this animal so close in front of the camera is a moment that only happens once in a lifetime.

The experience is very raw and real because you don’t take photos out of a fixed hide. While we were in the forest we felt very connected to nature – we were a part of it.

Thank you very much! I guess we meet soon"

Florian, Germany

"Poland 02/2023 – Wolves, Wisent and Moose.

Wolves, Wisent, and Moose – a combination hard to find…. Not for Robert!

Robert organized a fantastic photographic workshop to the hottest spots in Poland and also had an eye for all the small details that make a professional photo workshop worth to do it twice!

The accommodations were fantastic, and the food was an ongoing culinary highlight throughout Polish cuisine. His knowledge of the countryside, the guides, and his ambitions to get the perfect situation for your photo are outstanding

Thanks, Robert for being a part of one of your fantastic workshops!"

Martin, Austria

"February 2023

On our workshop with Robert, we were able to make great pictures of wolfs, bison, and moose. The whole worshop was a pleasure, and very well organized. Robert was very responsive to all our demands. We learned a lot about wildlife but also about the great Polish cuisine. I look forward to working with him in the future and to more shared adventures."
